In Mexico, many pharmacies have an attached "consultorio médico" (doctor's office) right next to or inside the store — this is super common and very tourist-friendly for non-emergency issues like colds, stomach bugs, minor infections, rashes, sunburn, etc.

How it works:

• Walk in, no appointment needed usually

• Consultation typically costs $30–80 MXN (about $2–5 USD) — sometimes free if you buy medication there

• Wait time is usually short (15–30 min)

• Doctor examines you, writes a prescription, and you fill it right at the same pharmacy

• Most doctors at pharmacies popular with tourists (Zona Dorada area) speak at least some English

A few practical notes:

• These doctors handle things like traveler's stomach issues, colds, minor wounds, rashes, mild infections, sunburn — basically the same level of care as an urgent-care visit.

• No appointment needed; just walk up to the consultorio window/booth, usually right next to the pharmacy counter.

• Bring a little cash (pesos) — consultation fees are cheap (~$30-80 MXN) and most don't take cards for the consult itself.

• If the doctor isn't there or hours seem flexible (a couple of reviews mentioned inconsistent doctor availability), just go to the next pharmacy — they're everywhere in Mazatlán, so you're rarely far from another one.

• If symptoms are more serious (high fever, severe pain, can't keep fluids down, etc.), skip the pharmacy and go straight to Hospital Sharp or Balboa instead.
